After some reply on the last contest, we decided to broaden the contest: It is still a writing contest, but the outline is now:
Write a story about a genie, who leaves his lamp/bottle/etc. for the first time after hundereds of years. How does she/he experience the new century/culture she/he's in now?
The deadline for the contest is the 31st of July. All entries must be placed in the contest folder of this group. If you got problems posting your stories there, we will assist you. You can enter only one story into the contest. The word limit is at 3000 words.
The prizes will be EITHER an illustration for your story made by OR a co-founder-status for one year in this group.
Nothing at the moment! Check back soon!
Genie ZodiacHey there!Genie Zodiac by MaxMed-01
I have some some idea about genies' theme.
What about... Genie Zodiac (Classic, Japanese, etc.)?
I offer 2 variants to do this:
1) The image reflects the appearance of its zodiac sign.
2) The image reflects the characteristics (at least the most remarkable characteristic) of its zodiac sign.
But there was a third way: creating unique Zodiac with unique characters, but this idea seemed too complex, so... if you dare, do it this way.
What do YOU think about this idea? And who agrees to make such Zodiac sign set with me?
If you are ready, send me a note.
All additional conditions are discussed right here, in this entry.

Genie: So alone....
A red-headed genie sits on the floor, sporting the usual female Arabian genie outfit colored in orange.
The genie was surrounded by a circular room with nothing but a mat and a table with a healthy rose in a jar.
Genie: (sigh) 500 years later and nothing....Why can someone just let me out already....I'm...I'm tired of being alone...
She collapsed on the floor in boredom, hoping that someone else will release her soon. But more than that, she wants to see how much the world has changed so far.
Suddenly there was a slight vibration that the genie could hear. It kept growing until it became a loud hum.
Genie: (gasp) C..Can it be?
(Outside, in a room)
Sam just bought an odd lamp in an antic store. The lamp had orange swirly design all over . Sam looked over the lamp and started rubbing off dirt and marveled at the design.
Suddenly the lamp vibrated vigorously and Sam dropped it in fear.
Sam: Wha..What the?!..

A World Without WishesShe walked the sun-baked streets, the sun above her still as abrasively bright and hot as she remembered it. The sun, however, was the only thing she still recognized.A World Without Wishes by UberMan5000
The streets of her city, once lined with beautiful palaces, gardens and gates, were now surrounded by square, tan, purpose-built buildings, where there wasn't rubble and remains. Once bustling, the streets here were now deserted, and they were covered in some kind of hard, black substance, like tar. The air was also quite silent, no longer bustling with excited chatter and song, just the hot desert zephyr and an occasional, muffled boom in the distance.
She ran into the occasional other person here and there, mostly tall, white men in strange, baggy clothes just as brown and tan as the dull surroundings. They shouted angrily at her in a language she did not recognize, and when they forcibly tried to take her away, she charmed them into forgetting her, and letting her pass.
The clothes she wore were airy and left little t
The Tale of Laniakea--Chapter 1: The Magic Bottle It was 3:45 am. Sunday morning. A girl in a hooded sweatshirt is seen stumbling the streets, giggles could be heard piercing the night. She was coming home from a party, a bit drunk. Specifically, it was her birthday party. She had just turned 24, and now planned to spend a good chunk of her Sunday sleeping and recovering from the hangover she assumed she would have. The Tale of Laniakea--Chapter 1: The Magic Bottle by TheHappySultan
She walked up some steps and stood wobbling in front of a door. She fondled around in her pockets trying to find something. With success in her face, she pulled out the object: her keys. She began to fumble with them, trying to find the correct key to the door. As she did, she noticed something sparkling on the ground. She jumped off the small landing, and pushed her face closer to it. She couldn’t make out everything about the object, but what she could tell was that it was a bottle! “Aww…zomebody gave me ‘nother dink fo me birth’ay! Zats cuuuuuuute~!” She gi
Hawkeye of the Lamp: Part 2/3"Hope you like the accommodations Vic." Tony sneered as he walked into the holding cells. Doom stood in the centre of the one directly opposite the door. "Don’t get too comfy, S.H.I.E.L.D will be picking you up in under an hour." Tony stood smugly in a clean change of clothes, his hair still damp from being washed.Hawkeye of the Lamp: Part 2/3 by Duke89
"S.H.I.E.L.D won't hold me any longer than I will allow you to Stark." Growled Doom. His eyes narrowed behind his mask.
"Had you just stayed at home you wouldn't be in this mess." Tony chuckled. Doom said nothing, he kept perfectly still and just glared at Tony. Outside the room Sam turned to Natasha.
"I don't get it... Why would Doom pull something like this?" Sam asked. "Even with Tony's virus…”
"You'll be surprised what someone will do when backed into a corner." Natasha answered. Tony waved at Doom as he walked out.
"Oh hey guys." He grinned as he saw them.
"Tony you do know it's not a question of if but when he'll break out." Nastaha stated.
